The high school in which I observed showed its age, there was a very warm feel to the building. The first classroom I was in grew almost unbearably warm, there was still a chalkboard in the room, and the room itself felt crowded. The feeling of being crowed carried through the building, especially the hallways during class changes and during these changes there was a sense of urgency to get to class. I don’t think I saw more than one or two students stop at their lockers between classes.

I think during first period, which was government, was when she was the least enthusiastic. Of course, part of that could have been contributed to it being her first class of the say. She did talk to another student a few times and to me before the class started, but she didn’t join in on the class discussion. Instead, she doodled and wrote in her notebook for the majority of the time.
In contrast, once the bell rang her attitude changed almost immediately. She smiled and talked to one of her friends until we reached her next class. Which was IT and after putting her bag in the designated bag area, she introduced to her teacher and explained why I was there. From there I observed that Sarah had more friends in that class than her previous one. Most of them were male and I noticed that there was a lot of teasing back and forth. Especially, when she expressed disappointed that one male student in particular was absent. Sarah and these students also talked about band, she even called dibs in the snare drum if it was needed during practice. The talking didn’t get in the way of her work and she had almost finished the assignment by the time 3rd period was over. Even though the teacher had to step in and tell them to keep the noise down for the other students working. I also asked her several interview questions at this
