The first act of violence that we have on record is found in the Bible. Reading in the book of Genesis, we learn that one of the sons of Adam, Cain, was tempted by Satan to kill his brother Abel. This was the first violent action that lead to a history of violence that has not ceased to exist, even in our day. The phrase “raising Cain” is still used in our day to describe when violent, rowdy, or unacceptable behavior is expressed by individuals. But how do we prevent this violence in America from occurring? Violence can and will be stopped, as long as the necessary procedures are taken.

From Gun restrictions, to improved security measures, the different possibilities can go on and on. Stricter gun restrictions, would allow for the government to determine what citizens are allowed to own different types of guns. If you have a criminal history, currently, you are not allowed to own certain gun types. This definitely does help the current situation a bit, but there is more that the government can do. From the perspective of Gun owners, allowing ownership of guns in America definitely has a positive aspect to it. If you think of all the home-invasions that occur daily in small neighborhoods across the country, many of these crimes could be prevented if the owners of these homes had a way to defend themselves, and their families. Allowing guns in this aspect, to protect and defend innocent lives from harm or injury by malicious intent, could in actuality bring the rate of these crimes down. The more threatened a person is by the consequences of an action, the less likely he or she is to executing that said action. This being said, it would not necessarily solve the problem, of course you have your illegal distribution of firearms and black market deals that occur without public knowledge, but it is definitely a way for the ball to get rolling, so to
