After watching the Finland Phenomenon documentary I thought it would be ideal to have a similar system in the United States. A System where the main purpose is learning, not benchmarks, levels or standards. Where only highly educated teachers are qualified to teach. Where the idea of less is more. Fewer classes during the day, so students have more time to put into practice what they had learned and apply concepts. Everyone is involved in the education of the children of Finland from government to parents. The students are taught to think for themselves, problem solving and work together as a team, furthermore the students are fully engaged in their learning. The students are not segregated. Everyone
