Essay On Love Hate Relationships

Improved Essays
Throughout all the people you know, you will find that one person who you have a love-hate relationship with. Which means that you and that person love each other so much but drive each other crazy at the same time. I have that relationship with my best friend Suzy. Eight years ago, I met her at school, from the moment we started talking, we clicked. We decided to skip school the next day but got caught. For some reason, that day got us really close. Since that day, not only do I refer to her as my best friend, but also the sister I never had. When we’re not together, we’re always texting or on the phone. Last year, our relationship changed but remained the same. We started fighting a lot and that made us drift apart but we always found a way …show more content…
I would say this is the main issue we are facing. We both used to put in the same amount of effort in our friendship without even trying. This year, I felt that I was putting in a lot more effort than her. I handled it the wrong way at first, I ignored her instead of talking to her about it. This all started when I realized that even though we go out every day, I put in a lot more effort in this friendship than her, so I told myself that I wouldn’t call her and wait to see if she did. She didn’t call for a week and when she did she argued that I was the one that wasn’t’ putting effort. I tried to explain myself but she said that she was waiting for me to call too. I could never get her to see what she was doing because she’d always turn the table. This caused a lot of problems for the both of us. It went from seeing each other every day to not talking for weeks. This only affected our friendship in a certain way. It didn’t change how close we are though. There is a special bond where sometimes I actually think she’s my sister, and I don’t think that that bond will ever go away no matter how long we don’t talk. We go months without talking now, it’s not like we’re in a fight, but we just don’t talk like before. Ever since we became friends, we travel to this certain place each summer. This summer we didn’t go, or even talk about it which really shows how much drifting. Another example to show how much we’re drifting is that she gets people to see if I’ll go out to see me through them. We never used to do

Unfortunately, I only see her on the weekends. This makes for a very lackluster weekend; especially when we spend our weekends doing homework on the couch with the television as background noise. This added stress on our relationship, but we pedaled through it. What bothered her most was on many occasions when we were hanging out, I would have almost no filter on what I said. I had an opinion about most things, which a majority of what I said was pessimistic.…

Friendship: a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people. True friendship is so loosely defined that even a dictionary definition is not truly correct, as a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people can relate to unfriendly situations that are both mutual, as well. Having true friendship and love are both defined through the eyes of the beholder, yet there are specific parts that make up each situation. In the novels The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Huston, friendship and romance are themes that constantly follow throughout both novels. In The Things They Carried, the narrator shares many different war stories with the reader, each of which features its…
