Walt Disney faced many conflicts while trying to become an artist, but he was successful when he put his mind to it. His journey can easily be compared to Scout Finch’s journey in To Kill a Mockingbird. Scout lost her mother at a young age and struggled while trying to become a woman because she did not have the support that she needed. As humans grow, they learn how to behave in certain ways in which societies or religions expect them to be done and consider them as proper behaviors. Such behaviors are implicitly and explicitly direct people that men should do these things and women should do those things. Mostly, men and women attempt to do such things to fulfill the social or religious expectations consciously or unconsciously. Such expectations oblige men and women to play certain roles. The expectations of the roles of men also happen in the short story from Ernest Hemmingway entitled "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber" which describes how Francis Macomber tries to achieve masculinity, and one of Pixar's movies, "The Incredibles" which depicts how Mr. Incredible wants to maintain his masculinity.…

“Feminist film theory criticizes classical cinema for its stereotyped representation of women. Its aim is to adequately represent female subjectivity and female desire on the silver screen” (Smelik). What constitutes a feminist movie for me, is having a female character be able to express all her characteristics. Showcasing female characters in movies as an independent woman who does not need a man to save her is letting the audience see a different side to females in movies. In the Disney movie for example, almost all the princesses are saved by a man or have a man by their side throughout the journey in the movie.…
