The film entitled “The Burning Bed”, is a film about a Woman name Francis that suffered domestic abuse from her husband Mickey. She was physical abused by her husband for years and she tried to receive help from her abusive husband, but the law enforcement, courts, and social services failed her in attempt to have him prosecuted. In the time period, in which the film took place women rights were limited and the husband had power because he was the head of the household. In addition, Francis tried to turn to her family for help but she had no support system, expect for her friend Gabby. Her in-laws and even her mother forced her to deal with the abuse that she encountered. Francis was determined to achieve a better life for her kids. Therefore,
