In the movie Schindler’s List, Steven Spielberg created dramatization by using the reduction and addition of color in his movie. Spielberg mainly reduces the color of the film when the tragic events occur throughout the film. For instance, the audience is drawn to the red coat girl who was seen when the people were being evicted from the Krakow ghetto. Later on the viewers are able to distinguish the girl when the Nazis order the Jews to bury all corpses of the dead Jews to eliminate the evidence of the assassinations. Spielberg also reduced the use of color from the scenes to generate certain emotions another example is when the flame of the candle is no longer visible after it was used for the wedding in the barrack.
