How Did The Feudal System Affect Society During The Middle Ages?

Let 's go back to approximately 1500 years ago, when the Middle Ages, or Dark Ages, began. During this era, life changed drastically for several Europeans. Not only did education and politics slowly wither away from people’s lives, but the economy broke down completely and left many citizens in an appalling situation. Without a strong and central government, the people had to take on a new approach, to ensure that societies and villages could run smoothly again. This new idea was called the feudal system, and it stayed with the people for a long period of time. The feudal system was an arrangement of social relationships between the different classes of citizens, based on the families that they were born in. Depending on that group, one would have different loyal services and obligations to the class above them. The peasants, the Knights, the nobles, and the kings were all part of the feudal pyramid. Each class had different treatments, laws, and daily lives based on the category they were part of. During the Middle Ages, the kings definitely held the most power and had the highest quality lives. Each class was looked upon differently and lived individual day to day lives. At the top of the pyramid was the king, who had excellent treatment and great power. Next came the nobles, who were important leaders with a bulk of wealth. Below the nobles came the Knights, who protected and expanded the empire, who had satisfactory treatment and acceptable lives. And at the bottom, was the peasants who worked very hard, but lived difficult and depressing lives.
