In this article, the timing of parturition is discussed in the human primate and a new theory is proposed on why human neonates are born so helpless while neonates of other primates are much more prepared for the world. The article presents the old idea coined the ’obstetrical dilemma’, which supports the idea that humans are born before their brains reach optimal development because if the neonatal head got any larger, it would not be able to fit down the narrow human birth canal. Human birth canals are so narrow in order to support narrow hips that allow efficient upright movement. The new hypothesis presented by the article is that humans give birth when the mother’s metabolic resources are over stressed by the fetus’ metabolic needs and…

One of today’s most controversial topics, concerns whether a woman has the right to end late term pregnancies through abortion. Specifically, whether it is morally permissible for women to receive abortions in the third trimester. In this paper, we will discuss both sides of the argument for “pro” and “anti” groups on whether it is permissible to have a third trimester abortion. When women receive abortions in this trimester is it usually too late to use medicine to abort the fetus, so often women will have an intact dilation and extraction abortion (Munson & Ian, 2016, p. 457).…

The postclassical period began at the decline and fall of the Roman Empire and lasted until the 15th century. As Western civilization began and throughout most of the medieval age, it was a backward society that only had regions around it that were just beginning or redeveloping. Western Europe had many problems, especially with Italy, which was left broken after Roman decline. This political weakness continued until the late 19th century, after medieval times. Spain, at this time, was controlled by Muslims.…

I am going to politely disagree with you on this one. A baby has formed a heartbeat around the 4-7 week of pregnancy. I know that many people handle situations differently, but terminating my own child would devastate me. From my personal opinion and knowing how I handle things, terminating my OWN child would probably make me super depressed and effect me in the worst ways possible. I know that I would be depressed, upset, and angry at myself for a long time knowing that practically murdered my own child.…
