Furthermore in the third book when Lupin has transformed into a werewolf, Hermione remembers that werewolves respond to calls of their own kind which protects the trio for the time being. In the first book she tells Harry and Ron how to survive the Devil 's Snare. Hermione is constantly saving Ron and Harry, which is noteworthy considering that she is the girl and many times in books or movies the female character is shown to be the one who needs rescuing.
