The story of the fearless, compassionate soul taking on the wild to gain knowledge and experience is timeless. Especially in the name of Transcendentalism and nonconformity many have gone on a journey to find meaning within this life and within themselves. Transcendentalism was a movement which encouraged nonconformity, the idea that God is found with everything, man is pure and wholly, also the regression to solitude in nature. The most recent infamous and tragic story of this would be that of Christopher McCandless. This man has left an imprint on society in a very shocking way. He has taught many life lessons through his story and has sparked inspiration in numerous others. It is completely achievable to follow a Transcendental path in America

Without a doubt, one could follow the path of a transcendentalist, such as the one of Christopher McCandless, in America right now. As Henry David Thoreau sharply put in his work Walden; "I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
