The witness testified that he is Foad and he is the brother of the decedent’s widow, not Ahmad Sadat, the uncle of the widow as identified on the witness declaration. Further, he testified that it was his witness declaration, but the printed name and relationship were incorrect. He also testified that brothers are sometimes called uncles. Karima Sadiqi gave him the declaration to sign, but he does not know who drafted it. Finally, he testified that the decedent’s widow does not have an Uncle Ahmad Sadat.

The witness testified that he can speak, read and write Dari and Pashto. He had completed eleven years of schooling and is a police officer. He spoke with Karima Sadiqi, solely regarding his appearing for his deposition and has not

They buried the body upon arriving at home. He believes that the family spent more than 6,000 USD on funeral expenses, but they have no documents that reflect the expenses. The expenses included the cost to feed approximately fifty people each day during the mourning period.

According to the witness, the decedent was making 20,000 AFN each month. He learned this when they went to receive the decedent’s last wages after the accident and was provided with a receipt.

Following the occurrence, Pamir made two payments of 10,000 USD and 13,000 USD to the family. They went to Pamir’s office to retrieve the money and they signed a document that indicated that they would have to return the money if they received money from another source. They were not provided with a copy of this document. The family used the funds to pay for household expenses.

They received the money from Pamir after the President of Afghanistan said that Pamir would have to pay to the families whatever money it had. The witness recalled that they learned that Pamir was giving money when they heard an announcement on the television. The family did not receive payments from any other
