Everyone loves a mystery, infact Edgar Allan Poe’s entire life was a mystery itself (402). Poe’s life consisted of countless events and tragedies that have lead to the writing of Fall of the House of Usher and other mysterious stories like the Raven. Every event leading up to Poe’s death caused him to feel pain, He suffered from addiction, struggled to make ends meet, and was abandoned (402). Throughout all the pain Poe was able to find something he loved, and that was writing. He reflected the events in his life into poems and short stories (Biography.com). Edgar Allen Poe’s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, the house, main characters, and plot are connected to Poe’s challenging past. ?
