This is considered one of the biggest changes in the history of the world. The scientific revolution brought a new way of thinking and introduced society to modern science. There were advances in many things such as mathematics, physics, astronomy, biology, and chemistry. The revolution also introduced the idea of empiricism, a theory stating that knowledge comes only, or primarily, from sensory experiences. This meant that it was no longer okay for people to guess the answers to their problems, now they had to start thinking logically and reasonably. The revolution gave us great scientists such as Galileo Galilei, Copernicus and Isaac Newton. Some of the revolutionary discoveries of this time period included, finding out the moon was not flat, jupiter had moons, gravity, and much more. The revolution lasted up until the 1700’s, and resulted in a better understanding of our planet, anatomy, and overall better resources. The revolution was the start of science, without the revolution there wouldn't be things such as vaccines or thermometers. Furthermore if it never happened we would never have advanced, we wouldn't have been able to create the medicine and technology we have today to fight diseases. With this being said, the scientific revolution happened because advances needed to be made, people needed logical answers as to why things, like diseases, happened to them. The scientific revolution brought logic and reason to society, someone says the revolution, “Expanded on its capacity to promote the workings of the human mind and its ability to rationalize, overcoming the misconception that anything related to the senses was to be mistrusted” (Durbanville "What were the effects of the scientific revolution?") . By this it is meant that the people of this time were able to overcome their superstistions and listen to reason. An example of this is how most people saw witchcraft and illogical after the revolution and no longer
