Turtle And Frog: A Short Story

During the beautiful Fall mornings, Squirrel often finds himself playing with all the other animals. This was not a rare occurrence for Squirrel, he often found himself playing. One Day, Squirrel went to the pond to play with Turtle and Frog. While the three friends were playing, Squirrel jumped in the pond, without knowing how to swim. Turtle and Frog did not realize what had happened because they were too busy playing. While in the pond, Squirrel thought he would drown, but that was not the case. He saw that under the water was not just fish and sea life, but there was a dark, mysterious palace. Once Squirrel reached the palace, he noticed that he was able to breathe perfectly. You don’t look like us.” Squirrel had a hard time with all of this. He didn’t exactly believe Frog. Squirrel asked, “Well if this is true, then how come there’s still a Frog and Rabbit and everyone else on Earth?” Frog responded, “Because we come back to Earth. Us personally do not go back, but identical creatures go back to continue to work and play just as we did.” Squirrel still wasn’t convinced. He went to reach out to touch Frog. Just as his paw grazed Frog, a loud scream came out of the roof and from the other ‘finished’ animals. Squirrel began to panic, he didn’t realize what he had done. He rushed out of the palace and was back in the water. He tried his hardest and managed to get back up the surface. When he opened his eyes and saw what had happened, he was devastated. Everything was more gloomy than before. Squirrel couldn’t find Frog and Turtle, so he ran into the woods. He saw so many creatures, animals and humans, begin to suffer and cry in pain. No one knew what had happened. Next thing he knows, they stop crying. Squirrel quickly looked and they stopped breathing. No one has ever heard of this type of passing.
