Peace and Freedom Party During the Civil Rights movement in the 1960’s the Peace and Freedom Party had came out due to the anger with the Democratic Party. The Peace and Freedom party were unhappy with support that the Democratic party were giving to Vietnam. They decided to make a new party due to the failure of the support the Democratic party gave. The Peace and Freedom Party has had many presidential candidates. The presidential candidates range from 1972 to 2008. The first candidate was named Benjamin Spock, and the candidate for Vice President was Julius Hobson in the year 1972. In 1968 only the candidate Peggy Terry ran for Vice President. The most recent candidates are Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez in the year 2008. The most
