Why is it socially acceptable to test on animals and not test on humans themselves? People test anything from cosmetics to possibly life changing medicine on sentient beings. We are forcing these poor creatures to put their life on the line for our benefit. If we want to test to see if a certain make up tool or medicine will harm us, humans should be the ones to go through the testing themselves. Animal testing is unethical, inhumane, harmful, and down right disturbing.…

Animal Experimentation and Research Common sense seems to dictate that the aim of medicine, vaccines, and surgeries are to improve our health, reduce and manage our pain and illnesses, and hopefully to live a longer life. With man wanting to learn more about the structure of the human body, he began experimenting on animals since using humans was considered unethical. According to the Professors of Pharmacology Badyal and Desai, animals are used in experimentation primarily for education, research, toxicology testing, and pharmacological use (257). The controversial debate about animals being used in medical research experiments and education dates back to the 1600’s (Badyal and Desai 257).…

Animal testing causes pain to animals all over the world, it exploits them for our need. It has existed for hundreds of years, but recently a movement has started to abolish the usage of animals in testing products and medication. Animal testing is wrong and should be abolished in favor of newer, better solutions, it often causes pain to the animal, and in most cases the results cannot be applied to humans, some may argue that because animal testing is a tried and true science, it must stay, but there are now technological advances to replace it. Animal testing causes animals pain, and therefore it is an inhumane practice and should be abolished. In 2007, over 77,000 animals suffered pain due to animal testing and were not given drugs to…

As children gain knowledge, change and grow through years of experience, so too has the scientific process involving animal testing. From the first baby steps when scientists knew limited information about this particular aspect of scientific experimentation, to today where new ideas abound on substitutes for animals tested in laboratories, the field has evolved into a mature segment of the scientific world. However, similar to a child’s growing pains, the use of animals for testing possible human responses has faced major challenges. Two significant challenges are: the controversial nature of subjecting animals to experimentation and the increasingly complex research questions not easily answered by comparing animals to humans. One of the…

Not only does animal testing harm animals itself, but it can also harm us. Animal testing is supposed to help scientists find more information about us, for example, how our body works and what medicines or chemicals will not have an effect on us. However, currently animal testing has not been useful and is misleading a lot of experiments (Clemmitt 10). In fact, so animals will not show any effect on them when scientist test out medicines, but in some cases, humans will show effect and has led to many outbursts. According to Helen Marston, who leads the Humane Research Australia, “the United States Federal Drug Administration confirms that nine out of ten drugs ‘proven’ successful in animal tests fail in human trials (Pycroft and Marston 36).”…

Though I concede that in some situations, animal testing may be useful, such as in immensely important medical studies, I still maintain that it is unnecessary to make an animal suffer and be discriminated against. Although some people may think that animal testing is healthy and beneficial to humans, I believe that animal testing is unethical and utterly wrong because of the unfair repulsive treatment that animals receive from scientists. This topic is important because the world we live in is as much an animal 's world as it is a human’s world and right now humans are discriminating and enslaving…

Animal testing has been carried out by researchers for many years all over the world for medical advancement and products. Animal rights activists and researchers robustly debate both sides of animal testing. Involuntary animals are tortured and killed in an inhumane way to benefit humans. The malicious treatment of animals for research is unprincipled. The problem in using animals for research is they have no voice or rights to decline the unethical torture and suffering they endure in an inhumane way which inevitably leads to their unnecessary death.…
