Love In The Eyes Were Watching God Analysis

What do you know about true love? Everyone believes they know the meaning of love, but cannot explain it. In the Eyes were Watching God, Janie goes through her life trying to figure out what love is and how to achieve it. She marries three different men and figures the true meaning of love. After much soul searching, Janie finally found her match. In The Eyes Were Watching God, Hurston uses Tea Cake and Janie to symbolize true love; they express their loyalty, trust and communication to one another. Firstly, when in a relationship one must establish a line of loyalty. A good and healthy relationship has loyalty where one can hold each other intention to connect and have communication that does not involve other people in their business, (Black).
