We can further research in our project by conducting multiple trials with the macromolecules and test the pH levels throughout the course of the experiment.
Materials and Methods The experimental design for our project was to simulate the digestion of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. We had set up trials for the pancreatic enzymes to break down these macromolecules and tested if macromolecule digestion had actually occurred, we also recorded the rate of their digestion by measuring pH levels. In trial 1 of our experiment we had simulated a protein digestion experiment where we tested the effect of pancreatin on digesting the protein substance, which was an egg white. We set up 4 test tubes and each was filled with exactly 10mL of hydrochloric acid to simulate the environment in the body, and the same amount of egg whites to each test tube for better results. Since we were testing the effect of pancreatin on the egg whites, we used different amounts of pancreatin in each tube. One test tube had 0mL of pancreatin, another test tube had 3 mL of pancreatin, another had 6mL of pancreatin, and another had 9mL of pancreatin, and each tube was labeled
