I also learn the correct way to call a doctor and what kind of information is relevant to provide in order to receive the proper guidance for a patient. Communicating with nurses is also a skill that made an impact because in order to maintain a patient’s safety working as a team is major point that needs to be followed in order to achieve such goal. I have witnessed in the past nurses having a difficult time obtaining information from the night nurse and been placed in the same position taught me to always ask even if the nurses says they need to go because their shift is over.
If I had the chance to repeat the simulation I would focus more on the patient’s safety and do my best to obtain all the information needed to deliver proper care. I would not focus on making a plan on what I should do first because nursing changes not all patients will be in the same state. I would keep an open mind that anything can happen and I should be prepare rather then making a schedule on how I will provide care for my patient. I would prepare myself to not be intimidated by the nurses or doctors behavior when communicating with them.
In this experience I would have prayed for the patient and every time she asked why was this happening to her remind her of the love of God. I knew she a faith in God as part of her history therefore
