Personal Narrative: My Experience Of Failure

Decent Essays
I can say that the experience failure that I had was not a major failure. It was a simple one, but to me it was hard to get over with because I always had a fear of failure. My first experience of failure was when I had my first driving test and coming from a country where women are not allowed to drive made it even harder. So driving was a first time experience to me and all my family said that if I didn’t make it the first time, then it is not a problem because I can always try again.

After a couple days of training and going to driving school, the driving test day has arrived. I was really nervous and I was hoping that I would pass from the first try. Unfortunately after the test I came to know that I failed and for some reason I was sad and felt that I let myself down. I knew that I was over-reacting because it was a simple thing, but to me the issue was not about how big or small it is. The

I would never forget my reaction that day, and I remember asking the instructor again if he is sure about it then he laughed and said yes, I am sure. I was proud of myself and happy that I did what I wanted and didn’t give up after failing a couple of times. Which made it better was that I took my license two days before my birthday, so it was a great early birthday gift.

What I learned from this is that to never give up from accomplishing what you want regardless of how big or small it is, even the small things can teach a lesson. Before this experience I used to say to myself that I never want to live the experience of failure of anything and if I did I wouldn’t know how to handle it. After this experience I started to say that it is ok to fail as long as you know how to get back up and try again and not let that failure control you. Now I don’t have the fear of failure because I know that no matter what happens I will always keep on trying and trying till it works out

Everyone has a different perspective and interpretation about failure. Some people see failure as an unpleasant thing or a limitation of their capabilities, while others see failure as a learning opportunity or a guide on how to become better. For example, in the article, “Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail,” the author, Angel B. Perez, implies that failure should not be feared because it is not as harmful as most people think it is. He points out that failure is necessary if we want to succeed in college and in life.…

Before January 9th or the start of the third quarter we were on Winter Break which was nice you could sleep in, stay up late, and by the end of it celebrate Christmas with your family so when the quarter started i was in a lazy mood because we had just gotten back from break.…
