Love is not always based on physical appearences. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, is a book that proves that you love someone for their heart. The two main characters are Louisa Clark and Will Traynor. Will Traynor was in a terrible motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. Will and Louisa are an unlikely pair, yet they become romantically involved. Me Before You shows, that love is not just about what you see, but about what you feel on the inside. The book appealed to me because of the two main characters. Will appealed to me because he was a free spirit. He loved to travel and do invigorating things. Louisa appealed to me because she was such a joyful person who saw the good in everyone. What appealed to me most was the title. It sparked an emotional response from me. The title explains what the book was about, by showing what happens when a person put someone else before themselves. This book does a great job in describing how real relationships are affected by something they had no control over. Will’s previous relationship did not end well because of his physical and emotional injuries. In the beginning of the book readers will not be very fund of Will. Will was very rude and arrogant. He was full of self-pity after the accident, and isolated himself from any emotional connections he had. I liked Louisa because she was very strong minded and independent in dealing with his …show more content…

Civil War battlefield surgery, surgeons, and nurses were more common on the battlefield during the war because of the severity of the injuries and sickness from disease. Civil War battlefield surgery came to be known as butchery, though it saved many lives of soldiers and helped them possibly get back on the battlefield. The most common surgery that surgeons performed was amputations. Most deaths didn’t occur because of the amputation itself but because of the “surgical fevers,” which usually developed during the septic state of surgery. Surgery as a treatment for injuries incurred by soldiers on the battlefield during the Civil War was brutal.…

This book has taught me so much about how true love never fails no matter what happens. The little things in life matter more than the big things. Also that you should never judge someone by their appearance because they are different inside the things you can’t see with a human naked eye, you have to get to know that person to find the truly special, ideal things inside with the loving warm caring hearts. “People die, but love doesn’t,” I learned that even if people pass away there is still that true love that never escapes the hearts of people that are still here on earth. Just like when Marguerite passed away Eddie still loved her with all his heart and the same goes for Marguerite that even when she was in heaven.…

I have so many different thoughts and opinions about this book. I started out loving Has to Be Love, was super conflicted in the middle, but thought the ending was pretty spectacular. Like I said, conflicted. Our narrator, Clara, was rather frustrating to read about because she was so torn between what decisions to make about particular things, but she was a truthful character (to us at least). Reading Clara's justifications for wanting certain things made me more interested in the story and what would eventually happen…
