Examples Of Expectancy Theory

Decent Essays
In my point of view, the expectancy theory is the best among other theories, because it proposes that people will choose how to behave depending on the outcomes they aimed for as a result of their behavior. We might see examples of expectancy theory in every single field, such as business, military and education. For example, I know a Navy captain in the Turkish Naval Academy, trying to be the dean. The commander of the Naval Training and Education Command will decide who is going to be the dean. He is about to get his second degree in college education and in addition to college education, he is taking military management classes to develop himself in every areas that he can. I follow a workout plan, because I want to spend some time other than school work, I want to relax from school work while working out. This helps me focus on my school work and military stuff after a good workout. Math is like a part of my life, and I cannot ignore it. For my dream goal, it is also an intrinsic motivation, because I have been in the Turkish Navy for five years and I know everything about the system, and I noticed that it is supposed to be developed. I found out that Operations Research is one of the best majors for the Navy and it is about critical thinking and math. I will enjoy trying to achieve my dream goal, and this shows that even though my motivation seems extrinsic, it is actually

Elements of the expectancy theory were very clearly demonstrated throughout this case study, and particularly with the new pay structure. With the proposed compensation plan, the physicians would have a very clear understanding of how their effort to obtain the minimum number of patients directly correlates to their individual success, and the success of their peers and hospital. The increased connection between effort input to rewards reaped for each doctor means that there is a higher expectancy value than before. Additionally, with this new plan instrumentality increases because an underperforming doctor will always have to rely on another doctor to carry their weight, and directly face the uncomfortableness and bruised ego that comes with…
