Mob Violence People get caught up in mob violence everyday. Sometimes without realizing it and it may not even correspond with that person’s thoughts and beliefs. That 's why mob mentality is so inconceivable. It can take the most simple and ordinary person and turn them into a lost individual working for the mob’s dangerous premeditation.…
This shows faltering faith because it again creates an accusatory tone and implies how Hitler, a horrid fascist has kept more promises than the God they praise…
There were so many people living in Europe, and to kill so many people seemed unreasonable to them. The townspeople probably believed that Hitler was not able to carry forth such a big task. Hitler’s group is considered a minority to the targeted population of Jewish people, or even the whole of Europe. In the Book Thief, many of the citizens did what they were told without thinking too much of it.…
A.Plan of Investigation (Word Count: 125) To what extent were German citizens responsible for what happened during the Holocaust? Although German citizens were somewhat aware of what Hitler was doing, they were not ultimately responsible for his actions. This paper will discuss how responsible German citizens were for the events of the Holocaust caused by Hitler. Primary and secondary sources will be used to view different ideas people had during the Holocaust, and ideas historians have now of the Holocaust.…
Elie Wiesel’s Change of Faith Throughout the Holocaust A big question that comes to mind when learning about the genocide of the Jews in WWII is: “How can people still have faith after the Holocaust?” God is one of the most prominent themes in holocaust literature; holocaust theology found in writings from the Holocaust have been discussed and debated since the 1940s. The accusations of the Jewish people against their own God is something that might be hard to understand. There are many different beliefs that the Jewish people had after the genocide; some of them abandoned their faith during the Holocaust, while others forgave God and kept believing in him.…
The KKK had a huge impact on American Society especially in the time when James was a little boy and he would be scared for his mother’s life. The forceful acts of dehumanization the Jewish were treated with altered their views on even God. Therefore if the Germans did not dehumanize the Jews as firmly as they did, perhaps not as many of the them would have lost faith in their religion in a time of such great…

What exactly is dehumanization? One definition says that’s it's the process of depriving a person or group (in this case, groups) of positive human qualities. Dehumanization has differing effects on people than we may actually think since we’ve never come into contact with someone who has been necessarily dehumanized. Let’s look at dehumanized Victims. Victims are people that are harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action and our event would be the Holocaust, so obviously this would cause some major problems to these victims.…
Genocides, such as the Holocaust of World War II, test their victims both mentally and physically. In surviving virtual Hell, the dehumanization process enacted upon the victims strips them of their personality, both inside and out. Through standard uniform and a robbery of one’s name, replaced with a number cruelly etched into one’s skin, the walls of a concentration camp physically make the many into one. The degradation that occurs mentally is yet even more tragic. Elie Wiesel, survivor and author of his memoir Night, recounts this experience.…
Jews were brutalized by Nazis. They were overwhelmed by these actions and could not believe that God, the Almighty and Eternal, responsible for everything in the world could permit such atrocities. “ Why, but why should I bless him? In every fiber I rebelled. Because he had had thousands of children burned in his pits?…
In the novel Night by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, there are several quotes that hold significance. These quotes discuss when he questions his beliefs; the deaths that occur around him; and how he soon had more faith in the man destroying his people than anyone else. Through them, the reader sees the heartache and destruction cast upon someone who had gone through this tragic event. In all, Eliezer’s words almost bring a sense of understanding to those who didn’t witness these events firsthand, or to those who didn’t have to go through such a horrible time in history. These quotes show a change in Eliezer; they show what the genocide of one’s people can reduce them to.…
Background and Key Events The original Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1866 by a group that included many former confederate soldiers from the civil war. The group started out as just a social club that was located in Pulaski, Tennessee. In the summer of 1867, branches of the Klan in and around Pulaski met together at a general convention. What they had formed they called the “Invisible Empire of the South.” Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest was chosen as the first to lead the Ku Klux Klan.…
Though there was one woman, Stefanie, who he went crazy for. He had never met her, only admired her from afar. One day he saw her walking with young officers and he immediately went into a jealous rage and said the whole officer class was now his enemy. This is another great example of the borderline personality, as it was from those two officers who weren’t knowingly hurting Hitler that, he decided to put them into the “all-bad” category. After this happened, Hitler told Kubizek that he had a plan to kidnap her, but Kubizek was able to convince him that doing such a thing, was crazy.…
