I’m going to be talking about the painting The Execution of Lady Jane Grey by Paul Delaroche. It is in the National Gallery of London and was completed in 1833. Lady Jane Grey was only queen of England for nine days until she was sent to be executed. She was just sixteen years old. The painting captured my attention because I could place myself in her shoes. I can relate to her because we are both teenagers. In addition, I can relate to her feelings and I imagine she is scared. Some feelings in the painting are worry and sadness. Also, the smell of the hay and the musty room are present. I can hear the sound of the guillotine and the weeping of the grieving women.
