When we talk to a person through a text message we often short-hand what we are trying to say so we don’t have to type as much. We do such thing by typing words like lol, omg, and the list could go on and on. Although, what we don’t realize is sometimes the person on the other end of the phone may not interpret the short-hand the same way as we did. Through a phone call we talk much like we would in person using whole words that the person we are talking to understand. Just as not clarifying what we want to say in a text, we often give off the wrong emotion through a text. For example, if I were to type YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS in a text message you would get a mixed emotion on whether it meant I was excited or angry. Since we can’t hear the person’s voice or see them we can’t relate to what type of emotion they are trying to portray. This leads to the wrong interpretations and sometimes a fight. However, through a phone call we can hear the tone of the person’s voice, so if I were to say the you won’t believe this in a phone call you’d be able to tell if I were excited or angry. In my opinion when it comes down to clarification calling beats texting, because of the connections and clearness that you have through a phone call. Although, calling doesn’t get all of the credit, because when it comes to time efficiency texting comes in handy more than
