The hip-hop music genre was constructed by inner-city African Americans in the late 1970s. It consisted of stylized rhythmic music that commonly contains rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted or recited. Hip-hop is characterized by four elements which are DJing with turntables, MCing, break dancing and graffiti writing. Others may also include sampling beats or beatboxing. The evolution of hip-hop has allowed people from different cultures to express themselves musically. It allows artist to narrate their life stories and events negatively and positively. Hip-hop is a diverse genre in the world of music.
