Social Media is part of our lives; most people have Facebook, Instagram, texting, YouTube and the list goes on. Some say it helped our lives tremendously, some says it has destroy their lives to where simply there is no return such as death. There is a bad in everything and social media sadly has a big evil side to it, most teens will ignore this but there is a high level of cyber-bullying; the biggest problem using social networking platforms such as Facebook, MySpace, twitter and texting. Many teens especially commit suicide because of this, but it is not one nor hundreds but thousands. Social media also decreases our productivity in our lives, we are stuck in a cyber world of fake friends and people who wont bring you any good in one’s life. …show more content…
It causes many problems and sadly suicide in most teens, parents could interfere but most of them have no idea their child is being bullied through social media. In fact, according to the “American Osteopathic Association, 85% of parents admitted that their child has a social networking account” (“Cyberbullying Statistic”). Too many enjoy hurting others through a social networking platform and due to that many end up making suicide. Many parents don’t see how that can be effective, because it’s not in person and won’t do any harm but sadly it does. Many Cyber bullies think that bullying others online is funny and do not realize how big the problem is. This can happen mostly from revenge to someone or simply allot of times jealousy and accusing him or her of something they don’t like or that is not true. Words are powerful and can easily change someone’s mind, make someone do something or even attempting suicide. It needs to stop and sadly parents aren’t doing much for their kids in that …show more content…
By doing that it will reduce cyber bullying, promote productivity and find a way to have less options showing ones privacy. This could be done by telling your kids to not show your private life on the net and showing them what the results would be if they do. Also having less to no options about private information such as your likes, the high school you went too, where you live, and whom are you dating. The list can go on and on but I’m sure you get the idea, as stated above cyber bullying is the biggest problem and all this is due to my last two points I mentioned, productivity and privacy are the branches to cyber bullying. The world has to wake up and see what’s happening, were becoming slaves to our own creations, to a screen and fake friends, reducing our productivity causing health problems and even lack of knowledge. Imagine this is happening to you would you want this for your self? Be in danger, have the world know what your doing, not seeing the outside world you live on. Or simply ask this to yourself, is that what you want for your child? Social media has to end up to a point and we have to realize what and who are we becoming, slaves to a screen or a free safer
