The movie did leave a lot out from the book so it isn't as well detailed as it could've been. The movie changes the scenery from the beginning to being at a tattoo shop and Hannah’s age to make her older like 16-17 and shows a scene where she is driving to her home, in the book Hannah is 13 and the book says her mom picked her up from rosemary’s house. The book mentions Hannah having a little brother aaron, but in the movie he isn't mention nor does he read the questions at the dinner table or hide the bread like said in the book. When hannah opens the door to Elijah she doesn't see the fields or people working she goes straight into a hallway in Ruby’s house. In the book Ruby is mentioned to be Hannah’s best friend in the movie she is mentioned as not only her best friend but her cousin also.…

The novel, The Catcher In The Rye, elucidated the stresses of high school and taught me how someone my age has experienced the difficulties of losing something important, while also dealing with the difficult aspects of being a teenager. Holden Caulfield, the main character, continues to refrain from opening up about his brother’s death to his teachers, family, and friends. This ultimately puts him in a dark and depressed state and makes him search for his true identity. Holden’s loss of innocence helped me learn how life will not always be balanced, and how one must persevere in overcoming the hardships that arise.
