Cloning Is A Moral Impasse In Hinduism

There comes an intriguing moral impasse in Hinduism as to whether humans, as scientists and as individuals, should persist in the research of cloning. Even if the act of cloning is morally incorrect it doesn’t mean that the act of cloning couldn’t occur. Imagine if a scientist poised on cloning a part of the human organ was able to end the suffering caused by weak hearts. Humans would live longer, shortening the pain of death and suffering of loss. Those who suffer from weak heart conditions would be able to live more active lives, not constrained by physical defects. However, the cloning of domestic pets, I feel, has no redeeming values. This is due to the fact that animals, and humans for that matter, are meant to die, and the cloning of a domestic pet is ridiculous and a waste of money (there are so many other things you could do with your money if you have enough to spend on cloning your pet). Also the cloning of animals for food I find to be wrong, as there are already enough issues with the meat production industry. In correlation with this, I feel that the cloning of animals for food distribution is also wrong, due to the fact that it will only add to the issue of factory farming. Ultimately, for research purposes and a positive medical outcomes, the cloning of animals is ok. On the other hand, my opinions about the cloning of humans is not as positive as they are for the cloning of animals. To clone cells, such as blood or liver cells, is productive as it serves a medical purpose that has the ability to benefit the whole of society. Although to clone a full person would be absurd. However, if something so ridiculous and Frankenstein-esque were to happen then it should, of course, have the rights that biologically born humans
