Imagine a young woman, sixteen, her mother has just died, there is no father in the picture, and the parenting responsibilities of her younger sister thrust upon her. Fast forward a year and this young women is now pregnant with her own child. She has no family, no financial stability, and still finishing high school. She turned to Planned Parenthood for help, where they gave her options on what could be done to help her. She ends up making the difficult decision and gets an abortion, a service that Planned Parenthood helped her pay for. This young woman was able to finish high school and go on to further her education to become a nurse assistant. Traditionally, Republicans are a denomination of Christianity and they use their religion to facilitate their beliefs and decisions. Beliefs involving a that a bundle of cells is intact a person and they have a rights according to the constitution. The Republican party says on the idea of Planned Parenthood, “We oppose the use of public funds … to fund organizations like Planned Parenthood” (Gray). Their quotes and feelings regarding abortion are about the same. With their beliefs the way they are, naturally, there is going to be an opposing side, it is just how the world and human beings operate. That is where the Democratic Party comes in. Low income households, who get support from democrat bills and programs, are the people using Planned Parenthood. “Our focus should be on supporting organizations that prioritize women's health, not organizations hiring pricey PR firms for damage control.” states honorable Deb Fischer (Ernst). Now, not all Democrats support Planned Parenthood and not all Republicans reject Planned Parenthood, but from what the typical person knows today, a majority of Republicans are against Planned Parenthood and what they stand for. For the past eight, Barack Obama and his office has voiced their opinions and fully supported the organization. Planned Parenthood now has to push past the fight they are going through with the Republicans now in charge of their funding. The Republican party in office are trying to lower the funding of Planned parenthood so they are restricted on how much and what they give to their patients. “Republicans will move to strip all federal funding for Planned Parenthood as part of the process they are using early this year to dismantle Obamacare” (Walsh). The only reason they want to defund the organization is because they provide abortion services. This resorts back to their beliefs and how they think.
