Mrs. Julia Davis the Chief Information Officer for AFLAC was the executive series speaker for the day and we had the privilege of listening to her. She started off with her background. She has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from Lehigh University. After college, she joined the U.S Air Force for 5 years as a software engineer for some time before leaving and pursuing various positions in areas from sales to project manager. Mrs. Davis stressed the value of ethical leadership and used wells Fargo, Bernie Madoff, and Toshiba as examples of horrible ethical standards and leadership. When it comes to AFLAC’s ethical practice, she told us that they won the ethical award 10 years in a row. They are the only insurance company to win that award back to back. …show more content…
Davis told us the seven core values of AFLAC which are: communicate regularly, respond immediately, know your stuff, treat everyone with respect and care, your problem is my problem, shoot straight, cover your customer. Within AFLAC there is a strong sense of fellowship. The Amos brothers, the founders of AFLAC, had a motto of if you treat your employees right they will treat their customers right. Mrs. Davis said that AFLAC took care of its employees and even has a week of employee appreciation to show their thanks. Lastly Mrs. Davis talked to us about the “One day pay” claim
