At the start of the play, Hamlet was conveyed to be a story of bloody revenge. It begins with family drama, a ghost, and a promise of payback; but that is not how everything unravels. The majority of the play is exhibiting Hamlet’s inner-conflict with the concept of avenge. He considers the mortality of vengeance against Claudius, but the retaliation actually only lasts for a couple minutes in the last act. In my opinion, the play is more attentive to the ethical view of revenge than seeking it. Most of the play is directed towards the scenes leading up to the revenge. It all arises with Hamlet meeting the ghost of his father. His father tells Hamlet multiple times to seek vengeance on Claudius for murdering him. He declares, “Revenge his
