An abortion is like murder and in the bible murder is a sin, it is also one of the commandments. In the Bible, God’s commandments consist of ‘Thou shall not kill’ and ‘Love thy neighbor’ amongst many other commands. Abortion would also portray a lack of faith in God and what he could do for a family. As humans, we do not always think of God and his plan first, we tend to think of what’s best for us and forget that he should have the last say so. According to lecture 3 and humanities sinful nature, “The Fall introduced pain into the world − pain in childbirth and pain in work (Gen. 3:16-19)”. God has already punished us with painful childbirth do we really want to kill an unborn child and see what those consequences are, most likely not. She could either consider Professor Richard’s recommendation to abort the fetus; or she can have the baby and try to take care of it while it is treated for down-syndrome. Susan as a Christian, would have to consider God’s will, His commandments, and the possible consequences when she is deciding to either have an abortion or keep the baby that could be a blessing in disguise. If she does not take on the Christian worldview, she can go on and make her decision based off of whatever matters to her. In the end, the decision is Susan’s and she has to define what is ethical for herself, because she is the one who has to live with this
