Cons Of Human Cloning

“Human cloning is coming,” as Mike Pence once said. Cloning is a technological advancement that is making its way toward our era. It has already been established in 1997 through Dolly the sheep, the first cloned living organism by taking a cell and infusing it with electricity to create an exact replica. After this significant scientific breakthrough, the big question asked now is how much farther can we take cloning to another matter like even human cloning? Human cloning is one majorily entire thing versus organ cloning, which has benefitted many people worldwide. Cloning aids deeper understanding of the human genome and genetic evolution which is how our body evolves over a course of time. Cloning can have many applications in everyday life by using “genetic fingerprinting, amplification of DNA and alteration of the genetic makeup of organisms,” (Oak 1). This allows us to yearn changes in our overall genetic makeup of how we portray ourselves. As a result, there can be a possibility to eliminate negative traits about the organism, but keep all the positives. It goes against God 's words to what man is able to do. It defies his teachings with the science advancement of being able to make another being without the use of sexual reproduction. Morally, many see cloning as a problem instead of solution to many medical problems in today 's society. As studied by the church, a fertilized ovum is a real person, but when removing the nucleus during cloning, they become murdered, (“Ethical Aspects of Human Cloning”). This can then cause huge complications with the Christian and Catholic community for a person who is extremely devoted to God, but is in dire crisis of needing a clone of his or her disabilities like having no use for his legs. Furthermore, in religious teachings if no sperm enters the uterus to fertilize the ovum it does not carry a soul. The process of having the sperm fertilize the egg shows the soon to be created being to have a soul, (Reuters 1). Therefore, when the embryo develops it will be born without a soul, unable to feel, touch, hear, see and not be able to be detectable by other human beings. Moreover, another concern is the business and the money making behind cloning.
