What these men did is truly incredible. They came up with a very brilliant plan to escape Alcatraz. The men gradually widened the vents, using saw blades, spoons, and a drill from a broken vacuum cleaner, and they covered the holes with cardboard and paint. The men had set up a workshop in the roof of their cell block. In the workshop, they had over 50 rain coats that they stitched together to make a raft, and they made paddles from scrap wood. After that, the men sculpted paper mache heads made from soap and toilet paper. They painted the heads, and got hair from the barber shop. They put the heads in the beds, and stacked towels and clothing in the beds to make it look like they were in bed. The men escaped on the cold night of July 11th,

Learning about the crimes that Robert Garrow committed, his ingenious and successful plan to escape prison, as well as the facts that he disclosed to his lawyers Frank Armani and Francis Belge, is important in putting both the concept of attorney-client privilege today and the recent escape of Richard Matt and David Sweat from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora into context. Robert Garrow was a disturbed man that was faced with terrifying violence and maltreatment by his parents at a young age. During his adulthood, he began to commit crimes including the rape and molestation of young women. He was convicted of a rape in 1961 and consequently spent eight years in prison (Berman and Mosher 45). Following his release after serving the…

They could of died but there is still no proof that they did. There is evidence that could help prove that they did survive.…

The primary argument of this piece is to make a statement to everyone and the government on how Native Americans were treated and still are treated. When the Native American say, “this tiny island would be a symbol of the great lands once ruled by free and noble Indians”, is an example of the point that the Native American are trying to make to the white fathers and his people. They are showing that before they were kicked out of their land and treated horribly, they were once free. Ordinary people and giants tie into the Alcatraz Proclamation very well. The Native Americans were facing many giants through the time there land was taken from them.…
