The Importance Of Environmental Policy

Great Essays
The Environmental Policy of the United States helps regulate activities that have an impact on our environment by federal government action. This policy helps protect the habitat for future generations and does not interfere with the liberty of the people. President elect Trump should deem this an important public policy to tackle in his upcoming term in office. Republicans typically do not take on environmental policies and put them into action, but I am hopeful he will see the good this can do for the planet.
As the country continues to grow so does the population and the pollution in the air rises. There are many things Trump can go after, but I think he should continue to keep our environment healthy and stable for everyone. According

I personally do not feel this is being held to a great standard. On https://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/Look-at-How-Much-Waste-America-Puts-Into-Landfills-Compared-to-Europe, they provide a graph for visual representation of comparisons between the United States and European nations on waste management. The U.S. has the worst record with sixty nine percent of our waste going to landfills; this is not something anyone should consider influential or superb. Austria recycles or composts seventy percent of their waste, while America only does twenty four percent. In other countries, when they put their trash out, if the garbage company sees something in the bag that can be recycled they do not pick it up. This is a valuable task everyone should do, recycling helps the environment more than anyone could imagine. According to ReEnergy Holdings, “Our recycling facilities are creating biomass fuel that can be used at facilities like our renewable energy facilities. Our renewable energy facilities are using biomass fuel to generate electricity for use in the communities we serve.” The United States only uses about seven percent of their garbage to create renewable energy. To some this may not seem pertinent, but in the long run I know I will be thankful for the few who care for the …show more content…
Obama has paved the way for President elect Trump, now all Trump has to do is continue the tradition. Trump is a business man, he has created many buildings in large cities that contribute to global warming. Advancements are a necessity, but some places should be kept the way they were brought up in the world. For instance, the Dakota Access Pipeline in Sioux County, North Dakota has been all over social media with Americans peacefully protesting. The pipeline will enable domestically produced light sweet crude oil from North Dakota to reach major refining markets in a more direct, cost-effective, safer and environmentally responsible manner. Yet it will go through Indian Territory that has been there for thousands of years, this is why I believe some parts of the United States should remain untouched and keep our heritage alive. I think most Americans believe this will be a tough task for Trump to take on, but if Obama leads the way I am hoping we will be

The government already has the power to tax companies through the constitutional interstate commerce clause, so a push to tax these industries harder to clean the environment might not require such wholesale changes. Taxing industries creates incentives to find cleaner energies, like the cap-and-trade system. Instead, more focus should be placed on the energies that do not have so many negative externalities. States like Florida that outlaw solar energy leasing should change their policies in order to drastically decrease their pollution output from factories and homes (Dickinson). According to National Geographic, the sun beams enough energy each hour to satisfy global energy needs for an entire year.…

The responsibilities for environmental policy and practice is divided among the federal government and states. The government controls the biggest of the regulations but dividing the practice among the federal government it allows for adaptation. Allowing for there regulations to be tweaked and changed to accompany the states stance on environmental output. The awareness of our environmental impact influences how these regulations are changed as different places have different impacts. While income can play a small role in what regulations are practiced and changed it comes down to the community’s standards to follows these regulations.…

Now when it comes to talking about the ex president George Bush and his connection towards the environment I would have never imaged that he actually achieved some benifsale actions. Well, according to Levi a formal CBS journalist some accomplishments regarding the environment would be that “Since 2001, air pollution has dropped by 12%. The strictest air quality standards in American history are now in place – as are strong regulations on power plant and diesel engine emissions. And More than 3.6-million acres of wetlands have been protected, restored or improved.…

Conservative Environmental Policies in A New Age Climate change is a very divisive subject. While some may attest that climate change is a subject that is divided on partisan lines, that can easily be dispelled by a group of elderly Republicans. These republicans aim to offset the damage to the environment by creating a tax that generates revenue by way of taxing where carbon enters the environment. John Schwartz, a writer for the New York Times, decided to report on the republican proposal. By using Aristotle’s appeals, Schwartz is effective in his article by using the elements of logos based in facts and relevant arguments and supplementing with the appeal to pathos by using experiences and facts that provoke emotion in the reader.…

My vision for America is as bright as the colors on our flag and we are already moving towards it as we continue to advance our science and technology every day. In my vision, I see an America where you can go to a hospital, type in your problems on a computer, and it will tell the doctor what tests you need to further determine what ails you. The doctor will be able to enter your test results onto the computer and it will tell what is wrong, then gives the treatment options. In this vision, there will no longer be waiting hours in hospitals, nor will it take weeks to obtain an appointment; the process will be a million times faster. This is not the only change I see coming: as we share more and more ideas with other countries continuing to find faster cheaper means of production, we will continue to find more time and money to spend on the environment.…
