The Enemy is a horror novel written by Charlie Higson, published in 2011. The Enemy is a book written in present day London about zombies. The zombie disease started in New York and anyone over sixteen contracted it. Any group of zombies are called Grownups, while separately they were mothers and fathers. The children took shelter in groups in different locations, and in time built small fortresses. All of the fortresses are named after the town that they were in. all the kids in London started moving to Buckingham palace, which caused uproar in the community. When they got to the palace thing got worse then what they were already.
Small Sam if the first character introduced. Throughout the story Small Sam is trying to get back to his little sister. Arron and Maxie are next; Arron is the leader of a group of kids in Waitrose, London and Maxie is second in command and also in love with Arron. Then Deke and freak, they are the muscle of the group, Deke sacrificed his life for his friends in the beginning of the book.
