The End Becomes the Beginning
November 25, 2012. That day, or should I say night that changed everything. My best friend/sister of six years decided she no longer wanted to be friends with me. She looked me in the eye and said, “It’s just not the same.” Most people would say that’s not such a big deal, it happens all the time. In most situations it wouldn’t have been a big deal but that night I would soon realize that my life was going to spiral out of control and I was going to witness a domino effect like no other. Casey was her name. The girl I thought would be my best friend forever. Casey and I met in fifth grade we instantly hit it off and became close rather soon. She told me about her life and I found out she didn’t have the best family. Casey’s mom, Linda, was a sad excuse for a mother, she constantly had different boyfriends; and moved in with them in as little as a two weeks. Casey was always moving from house to house, different men in and out of her life every couple of months. She had to deal with her mom’s unwillingness to act like a real mother should. Linda would always put Casey off on her other family members; she never wanted to take care of her herself. That would mean Linda would actually have to get a job and that was out of the question. Once she moved Casey to her uncle’s house out of the blue and she had to live there for almost a year. That’s when my family came into the picture. She officially moved in with us during ninth grade.
