Should We Be Concerned With Climate Change? One question on everyone’s mind throughout the world is whether or not we should be concerned about climate change or not. There are those who are firm believers that climate change does exist and needs to be dealt with and there are those who do not believe in it at all and that there is no need to be concerned with it. Climate change is real and needs to be addressed by the world. There are many examples that climate change does exist and that it is having a negative impact on the very world in which we live. There is a vast array of climate change examples that we should be concerned with and which are effecting our ways of life which include rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and global temperature rise and need to be dealt with sooner rather than later before we destroy our very way of life. One clear cut example is that climate change is real and is a serious problem is because of rising sea levels. Rising sea levels are extremely dangerous because of all the major cities and huge amounts of people that live on the coasts. How could this possibly affect people? It affects them because they are the most vulnerable to natural disasters driven from the …show more content…
Just these few events can clearly show that climate change does exist. If we do nothing about this, then we will just continue to destroy our world that we live in and in turn destroy ourselves and way of life. We are dependent on fossil fuels as of right now but we need to turn our direction to a new future, one that can greatly reduce our amount of greenhouse gases produced and one focused on clean energy. Climate change whether you want to believe it to be true or not is very much true and the facts speak for themselves. We need to change how we live for the sake of the world’s future and the fate of generations after

In several respects, global climate change (GCC) represents new conditions. It is not just extreme events and changing rainfall patterns that have started to affect individuals in various parts of the world. There are also discussions in the political community regarding activities of mitigation and adaptation because of climate change. Decisions by others predict effects (by politicians regarding road toll systems, extra taxes on fossil fuel, etc.) even for those who are not personally concerned.…

Climate change has already effected the environment, glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal range have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. We talk about climate change, but some do not know what climate change really is, according to Google definition, climate change is a “global or regional climate patterns, in particular a change apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil…

Climate change is the single most environmental crisis of our time. It is responsible for raging storms, searing heat, ferocious fires, severe drought, and punishing floods. Climate change is posing a threat to our health, our communities, and our economy. According to scientists the main cause of climate change is from the “Greenhouse effect” and certain human activity are changing the natural greenhouse effect of our planet. Burning fossil fuels, clearing of land, lead to the heating up of the earth’s atmosphere, resulting in more evaporation and precipitation, melting of glaciers and increase sea level.…

Climate change has advanced very rapidly over the years, affecting everything that surrounds us. The drastic change in climate is now affecting Antarctica, whereas the ice is melting causing the water to expand higher. As water expands, flooding will start causing millions of dollars in damage. I learned that people are trying to get out of rebuilding destroyed homes or properties across the shorelines because of the amount of money being spent knowing that the damage could be done again in the future. Also climate change has made a big issues on global warming causing the oceans to be warmer than they are supposed to.…

Climate change has become a worldwide controversial topic in the world. There have been many debates and many arguments among scientists, politicians, climatologists, and more about this topic. Most people, including myself, is that humans are causing the climate to change and it is going to negatively affect us in the future due to increase levels of carbon dioxide. While skeptics believe that humans are not the cause, the main cause is natural variability. The climate is changing because of nature and the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can be a positive thing.…

Climate change is a problem that threatens our health, basic needs, and national security. Some impacts of climate change include record high temperatures in some regions of Earth, rising seas, and severe flooding and droughts. One of the major causes of climate change is the release of greenhouse gases which in turn build up in our atmosphere. They include carbon dioxide and methane. One of the major contributors is transportation.…

Owen Caplinger Many scientists state that climate change is real. These scientists and scholars believe that climate change is real, because the temperature is constantly changing from the past 200 years. Acording to the website http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ it states, “ The Earths climate has changed throughout history. 7,000 marks the beginning of the climate era. Most of the climate changes are contributed to very small variations that changes the amount of solar energy our planet recieves.”…

For example, in 1816, or the Year Without a Summer, the volcano Mount Tambora released a colossal amount of ash into the upper troposphere, deflecting a large amount of solar energy back into space. Sudden events like these can cause dramatic changes in weather, but make a miniscule impact in climate. Using strange weather phenomena as a judgement for climate is similar to saying that the 2016 “Super Moon” phenomenon, where the moon appeared brighter and bigger, is proof that the moon is getting closer to Earth. The distance between the Moon and the Earth always fluctuates, and one peculiar sighting of a larger moon does not imply that the moon is slowly getting closer. From this, we can conclude that because of common misunderstandings of the definition of climate change, climate, and weather, people are willing to believe that climate…

The Effects of Climate Change in Alaska Climate change, is it real or is it a hoax? If you live in Alaska maybe you’ve noticed environmental changes such as glaciers gradually melting, or maybe you’ve visited the village of Kaktovik and saw the polar bears that are new to the area (Goode, 2016). Perhaps you’ve recently moved to a new city because your last home was to inconvenient for you to make it to work on time. Well for the people of Shishmaref, they recently decided to move from their home due to erosion and flooding caused by climate change (Mele & Victor, 2016). Climate change is impacting us all of us whether we are aware of it or deny the it, the world is changing all around us.…

Both of these pieces of information show a slight temperature increase, which may not sound significant, but if the temperature continues rising at the rate that it currently is, then a temperature increase will have consequences such as a rise in sea level, change in rainfall patterns and ecosystems and more dangerous and frequent extreme weather Another aspect proving climate change’s existence is the increase in ocean acidification. Increased carbon dioxide in the air is causing rapid ocean acidification to occur. Ocean acidification is when carbon dioxide is absorbed by seawater and reduces the seawater’s pH level and since the industrial revolution, the acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by 30%. Ocean acidification is dangerous because in more acidic waters, calcium carbonate is more difficult to absorb.…

I think it is important that we find solutions to this issue before we begin to focus so much on climate change. It does not help that the temperature of the globe will be higher for several hundred years when the world has become so terrible that people have to spend hours to fetch some water. I think it is important that we take climate change seriously and that we constantly work a little to improve the climate, however the main thing is still to resolve the problems we have around the world today. At least is so important that everyone can feel safe, have food, water and have a place to stay since everybody in this world deserves…
