“The Elevator” was written by Robert Coover. In this story we meet the main character, from whom the story is blooming, his name is Martin. He is a shy and not really handsome boy. Also, he is an observer, who afraid take a threat. Further, he is always around the corner, seems to wait to jump, but rather than he is jumping into his imagination.
Firstly, he is introduced to us, when he was in the elevator as he goes to the basement. He thought it would be a weird place. However, when he gets that place, there was nothing, just an empty and meaningless basement. He always takes the elevator to the 14th floor, where he spends his much time to his work.
At the end of this story, Martin does not use the elevator, instead that he uses stair. While
