Darfur is a city in Sudan, Africa that has a population of around six million people. In 2003 a fight broke out between the Sudan Liberation Army and the Justice and Equality Movement. These two groups are being killed by the Sudan government armies called the Janjaweed. 35,000 civilians have been killed by the Janjaweed army and more than 265,000 people have died from starvation and injuries. This disaster in Darfur meets many of the 8 stages of genocide.
