Social networking is one stop shopping- it has the ability for people to chat privately, post publicly, give gifts, share pictures, and more. Lisa Davis from Time magazine observes that her busy friend’s “online sociability and offline silence probably have less to do with digital retreating than time management” (Davis). From stay at home moms to important businessmen, people have to deal with the issue of limited amounts of time for social interaction. Often, our society is simply too busy to meet face to face, and social media offers a variety of ways to connect with society conveniently and on the user’s time scale. Not only does social media help those too busy connect, but it helps students who have limited interests. Lisa Tripp, co-author of a book on social media, observes that some students have a hard time finding friends because of their narrow interests. She states that “the one kid in school who was, say, a fan of Godzilla or progressive politics might find himself isolated. These days, that youngster has peers everywhere [online]” (Goff). Just because some students do not know how to find friends with common interests offline does not mean they have to be isolated. Social media has made it convenient for these students to find friends
