In this day and age driving and cellular telephones are some of the two most influential ideals in the world today. Cellular telephones are a way of communication that have helped this society greatly. Driving is a way of transportation that has hugely effected the transportation world. These two ideals are very beneficial to the United States society today, however when these two things are put together they have a great negative effect. Using cellular telephones while driving is an issue that is greatly effecting this generation. Texting while driving is a huge issue because the law against it is not being enforced enough, it is more dangerous than people think, and it is not very hard to creat an alternative.

In the year of 2012 there were 450,000 crashed because of distracted driving. Safety-efforts to stop distracted driving have slowed down drastically and as a result have caused an increase in crashes. Someone who spends all of their time trying to stop texting while driving and distracted driving even believes that texting while driving is a huge issue.(Halsey) Texting while driving is a bigger issue then drunk driving because when one is driving while drunk they are actually trying to stay in between the lines and trying to be safe but when one is texting while driving they are intentionally trying to do something that distracts them from the road. In the names of Fumento "Tests show that drivers ' braking distances are much worse while texting than being legally drunk, and texting while driving is seventeen times more dangerous than talking on a cell phone." This quote is a great explanation of how texting while driving is much more dangerous then driving under the influence of alcohol. It is much too hard to focus on someone else or on a cellular telephone while driving and caused so many accidents within the United
