Teenagers usually use shortcuts while sending messages in order to get their message across quickly but researchers have found that texting can most definitely lead to a decline in language and grammar skills. This article mentions the same study that was shown in my first source, proving its validity. It also mentions how using texting shortcuts such as “gr8” for great or an initial like “LOL” for laugh out loud, will be imitated by kids and can affect their offline language skills.
