Intro From around January of 2008, 7.6 million mid-paying jobs have been lost and they do not seem to be stopping (Condon par. 12). Most people around the world believe that technology is a fantastic thing that seems to only help us. Even though technology may bring us good things and give us an easier life, it needs to be known that technology is also a very bad thing. From technology causing deaths due to people using their phones while driving or just the loss of jobs. We need to be aware that jobs and money we use to support our families are being lost to technological advancements. Not only will they take jobs away from you but it can cause stress and even be a factor in losing your life. Stress will be caused from too much technology …show more content…
Most people don’t realize it, but that stress can be surely caused by technology itself. The stress can be caused by a number of things such as the over usage of technology, or even the fact that people use them before they go to bed. Regular, late night computer use can be associated, and can cause depressive symptoms, sleep disorders, and even stress (Volpi par. 7). Mostly everyone has technology some way or another in their life and using it too much can be a bad thing. A common thing that is able to happen from the use of these devices is headaches and even a loss of sleep. Modern technology is affecting our sleep, the artificial light from our screens affects melatonin production which can change or throw off circadian rhythms, and this can prevent deep sleep (Volpi par. 1). Losing sleep will make any person stressful because it will affect work, school, and just socialization in general. Most people do not function as well when they are very tired and have a loss of sleep. Being careful with how much technology is being used everyday is very important, and making sure to not use it a lot before bed will be a great start to losing …show more content…
A study shows that one-third of people are more likely to feel less satisfied with their life due to technology being overwhelming (Coxon par. 1). This can usually be caused by using too much or even social media. Drama for instance can happen through social media in teens and sometimes in adults. Depressing things on social media can be very common, which can lead to technology being overwhelming. Studies show that Facebook, Twitter and social networking apps similar can leave some feeling depressed or addicted (Coxon par. 9). Being addicted to technology can be very common, from experience it has been seen that people get attached to social media and even games. The children can be addicted at young ages which can lead to technology being second nature to them. Research also shows that some children can use a smartphone before they can even tie their own shows, and the ages this occurs is between two and five (Coxon par. 11). In general the young population needs to be careful with becoming too addicted to technology and making sure it does not leave them feeling
