Family Essay Family life in America has been heavily impacted by the use of technology. When technology first began to appear in American family households, it was usually just about one television that was kept in the sitting/living room, now it appears all throughout the house. The technology American families are using ranges all the way from stationary devices to handheld devices including, televisions, cell phones, iPads, iPods, video game consoles, and much more. It is believed by many people that the closest bond that one will ever have in life will be between their family, but today the closest bonds people tend to have are between them and their technology. It has become a necessity to life. America is not as safe as it once was in the past. Children from the past were allowed to play outside with anyone anywhere, they just had to be inside by the time the street lights came on. Parents could trust that their kids would be safe and it wasn’t a big issue. In modern day America crime is so bad that parents would never let their kids do that anymore. Parents give their children phones in order to have a way to communicate with them at all times. They use it to call when they need picked up from school or practice or to check on their children when they are out with friends. Technology also provides away for family to keep in touch when they are no longer living in the same area. For example, if they have family on the other side of the country they can easily call and text message them to keep in contact and they can also use Facebook to see pictures and postings of their everyday life and still feel like that connection they once had is still
