Social media have been around ever since 1997 but now it is starting to effect young minds. The first social media site that everyone remember is actually the website called Six Degrees. The name came from the ‘six degrees of separation’ theory which was from 1997 to 2001. Six Degrees allowed users to create a profile and friend other users. They also allowed people who didn’t register as users to confirm friendships and connected quite a few people this way. Even though the youth today do not know anything about the six degrees, they now be on the popular websites today that everyone shares and love. Bullies are taking over some networks today and it is hurting the children that get associated with them. When children are getting bullied on the internet they attend not to say anything to their parents about it until it gets too far. The devastation of these online attacks can leave kids with deep mental scars. This is called cyber bullying and it is not a good thing to do some kids commit suicide, get depressed, have failing grades or try to avoid going to school. Although, there are more issues that come with the media, which is perverts that talk to young girls and boys. They make fake pages and state that they are the kids age and starts to talk to them. Even though that is a bad thing the other bad statement is when the kid’s grades start to drop because of being up all night on the internet. Some people share photos on social media that contains violence, which can damage the behavior of the kids and teenager’s actions. Putting negative impact on most society as these kids and teenagers involve themselves in crime related to these activities. Most of the users share too much information that may pose threats to them without them even knowing it. Yes, there are tight security settings but your personal information may leak on the social sites. This can give other viewers an opportunity to download or get your information without them even recognizing that all their personal things are gone. It also takes away time for families to bond and enjoy being around each other during the day or at dinner time. Some of them may develop an aggressive of offensive behavior. They might get in their heads that this type of behavior is how they should be because of what they have seen. People can take your identity or leak things about you that you would not want the world to know. Kids can ruin their friendships from the internet by going by what other people are
