It seems as if it would definitely be easy to get lost around all that information. However social media tailors all of its contents to everyone’s unique needs making it almost impossible to get lost among the millions of files shared daily online. A report done by the Communications Team of the New McGraw-Hill Education found that over 70% of students prefer receiving information that is as tailored as their social media feeds (2015, para. 1). The use of social media has trained our society to have various personalized ways of interacting with information. No longer are we forced to use only printed media to gather information about relevant topics. Videos, photographs and articles are found on a wide variety of topics reaching almost everyone’s preferred methods of receiving information. Nowadays it is common to see hash tags trending on Twitter talking about important events or natural disasters. The public is aware of what goes around the globe all the time. Thus, you can sign petitions supporting a great cause from the comfort of your living room or fund a charity working at the other side of the world. Society is connected and unified, people find out about happenings all around the world. People want to get involved even if it is happening in a different country. With this massive exposure to our surroundings opinions and ideas are shared at an exponential level. Online debates on LGBTQ+ issues or the US presidential election, amongst others, are full of different points of views that help shape our society into one that is open to diversity. Millenials are considered narcissistic, over-sensitive and sheltered as stated by Ellis in ‘GenerationWuss’. However, it is not over-sensitivity but the progress of our society and political correctness. Our society is aware of the diversity that exists in our world and embraces its similarities and differences. Acceptance to other members of our society that do not fit the white, cis-gender, male selections are being accepted more every day. A study made by the American Press Institute states that “70 percent of Millennials say that their social media
