Some of the long term effects of sleep deprivation can lead to things including: high blood pressure, obesity, heart attack, stroke, depression, other mood disorders, poor quality of sleep, and even overall poor quality of life (Thomas & Song, 2000). There have been numerous cases around the world of the dangerous effects of sleep deprivation. One specific case involves a 51-year-old man getting a great lack of sleep ending to his death.
